Rich Hardwood Flooring for Any Décor

Flooring is the most important aspect of any living space, especially homes, which form the nucleus of our busy lives and where we must find comfort and peace. For centuries wood has been the most suitable building material known to man, with its unique qualities and functionality it may never be replaced adequately. Even its faults which are few, are easily countered using technology for making the best furniture, doors, windows, structural supports and yes flooring. Traditionally all of the houses that used wooden flooring used only solid hardwood flooring that is available in many textures and shades.

Apart from its several functional uses hardwood flooring serves as an aesthetic enhancement to the decor of any place. It provides a special feeling of warmth and comfort unmatched by any other flooring material. We may or may not use carpets as the natural grain of solid wood is beautiful enough to compliment the eyes and the proper wood floor never feels cold to touch and is pleasure to walk on. It adds a regal character to almost any setting be it modern or traditional. The timber used for solid wood flooring is the whole sawed panels from various hardwoods of choice. These panels are costly to produce and even more costly to preserve and use properly and in addition to that special care must be taken to avoid any damage to the finished floor. The reason for this is the scarcity of quality hardwood all around the world.

But man’s immense respect and love for using wood in all the things around him has given rise to engineered wood and consequently Engineered Wood Flooring. Engineered wood basically means that specially sawed sections of wood are place perpendicular to one another (in terms of their length) and compressed or glued together permanently to create a ply. This gives the wood additional structural strength and its production does not require large and solid sections of expensive noble hardwoods.
